Fronts still can't get through Storm

Kingston Frontenacs win streak ends at 3 games during the start of a 3-game road trip last night in Belleville. This afternoon the Frontenacs travel to Guelph to face the Storm where they have not won a game since March 1996.

First Period, just under 1-minute in the game Kingston serves their only penalty this period; Lyons for High Sticking. Guelph take the next three penalties. Versteeg-Lytwyn at 7:53 for Obstruction Hooking, Elbowing to Smith at 13:21, and Versteeg-Lytwyn returns to the box at 16:57 for Hooking. With Kingston's depleted blue line, they are dumping the puck into the Storms' end when they can. Shots in favour of Guelph 7 to 4 closing a scoreless First Period

Second Period, Pronk is caught for Hooking at 6:51. Frontenacs are 0-for-4 on powerplays with 6-minutes remaining in the period; Spurr for holding. 16:17, Pronk serves 2-minutes for Cross-Checking and the Storm go 0-for-3 on their powerplay chances. With about 1-minute remaining in the period, Storms' Parent fires a long one in, which takes an odd bounce of the boards, and Matt D'Agostini taps it past Dayne Davis for his 9th of the season. Guelph leads 1 - 0 with shots 9 to 5 this period.

Third Period... Radek Smolenak takes a stick to the face, goes to the bench and is attended to by Head Trainer Andy Brown and Jack Campbell; Caruso gets a double minor; penalty wasn't called for atleast two minutes after the incident called at 3:04. Shutron eliminates Fronts powerplay at 4:02 for Hooking. About a minute later the Guelph goal light went on but the puck did go wide of the post. 8:39, Rizzi feeds Griffith who makes a beautiful pass to Evan Kotsopoulos (7) and puts it past Danny Taylor tying the game 1 - 1. 5-minutes in regulation Godfrey fires from the the point and Ryan Callahan deflects it in for his team leading 11th goal and gives Guelph a 2 - 1 lead. 1:15 remaining, Davis skates off and Kingston goes with 6-attackers; Coach Hulton calls time-out on a whistle at 1:01. Guelph Storm hold on for the 2 - 1 win.

Frontenacs' Dayne Davis faced 18 shots while Danny Taylor 19 for Guelph.

Frontenacs' have only 19-players dressed. Michael Kolarz is skating with an ankle injury, Dan Dempsey injured as well, and Derek Lyons is playing defence today. Not dressed are Adam Nemeth with a shoulder injury from October 30th in Belleville, Trevor Waddell re-injuring his ankle October 30th in Belleville, and Danny Revelle is out with a knee injury suffered October 14th in Windsor.

Kingston Frontenacs's road trip concludes this Thursday with the Peterborough Petes. Frontenacs play their next three at home starting with the Brampton Battallion on Friday, November 5th; Game Time at Kingston Memorial Centre is 7:30PM.
