Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release

TORONTO, ON – The Toronto St. Michael's Majors weren't able to capitalize on a strong opening period this afternoon and ended up falling 4-1 to the Barrie Colts. Toronto outshot Barrie 15-6 in the 1st period but came away down 1-0.

The opening Colts goal was provided by forward B.J. Crombeen at 15:33 of the 1st period, on the power-play, with the assists going to Andrew Hotham and Bryan Little. The visitors then made it 2-0 at 3:35 of the middle frame, when Mike Roelofsen connected on the power-play off of Hotham and Lukas Bolf feeds. Then, they ran their count to 3-0 less than five minutes later when Little notched his 6th goal of the campaign.

Newcomer John Adams got the Majors on the board at 15:17 of the 2nd period. The helpers were credited to Cory Vitarelli and Colin Power. However, the Colts salted the game away with under three minutes to play when Travis Fuller found the open Majors net.

Overall, the Majors outshot the Colts 32-25. Justin Peters got the start in net for Toronto but was replaced by Wayne Savage at the 2nd period's 8:14 mark. Francois Thuot got the win for Barrie.
