Kingston Frontenacs News Release
The Kingston Frontenacs today obtained defenceman Chris Petrow and Justin Wallingford from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for second year defenceman Trevor Waddell and a 7th round selection in the 2005 OHL Priority Selection.
Petrow, 6'3" 200, is entering his fourth OHL season will fill out the remaining Overage position on the Club. Petrow has played over 140 games in the league.
Wallingford, 6'6" 226, was the Generals first round selection, 11th overall in the 2003 OHL Priority selection. He played 39 games last season as an underage player.
"It's not often you can add two guys on the back end with size and grit," said Larry Mavety, Director of Hockey Operations for the Frontenacs.
"We believe that we have now addressed some issues we had regarding out back end. Wallingford is 6'6" and was Oshawa's first selection last draft and has great upside. With Petrow who's 6'3", you gain a steady defenceman who will compliment the team. Both are a stay at home guys with one who is entering his fourth year in the league. Both of them are right shots and are great additions to the Club", said Mavety. Petrow and Wallingford will make their debuts for the Frontenacs in Peterborough on Thursday, November 4th. The game can be heard on Oldies 960 on radio or seen on COGECO channel 13 starting at 7:00 p.m.
