CORPUS CHRISTI - It's Monday, June 8, and with the first half down to 17 games, the Hooks are in need of a power move through the Texas League South standings.

That opportunity presents itself Wednesday through Saturday as the first-place Midland RockHounds visit Whataburger Field.

Wednesday, June 10, Midland @ Hooks, 7:05 p.m. (gates open 5:30) -

- The first 2,500 fans receive a Hooks Road Cap, courtesy of your Coastal Bend Chevy Dealers.

- The Hooks and the University of Sidekicks present Mixed Martial Arts Night. Enjoy a pregame demonstration by three different age groups. The University of Sidekicks leads "God Bless America" during the seventh inning stretch. Mixed Martial Arts fighter Jason David Frank, formerly the Green Power Ranger, tosses out a ceremonial first pitch. Discounted tickets are available to all martial arts organizations. - Whataburger officials present a proceeds check from the May 16 Miracle League Pancake Breakfast to Miracle League of Corpus Christi board members. For the second straight year, Whataburger made restaurants throughout the Coastal Bend available for this fundraiser, which benefits construction of a Miracle League facility in Corpus Christi.

- KRIS-TV brings you Hurricane Preparedness Night, with chief meteorologist Dale Nelson presenting video tips throughout the evening. Dale also throws out a ceremonial first pitch.
