Frogs Fall to Dock Spiders on Walk-Off Single in Extra Innings

Fond du Lac, Wisc. - The visiting Green Bay Bullfrogs (7-12) were blanked for the third time this summer in a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat in the 11th inning to the host Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (10-8) from Herr-Baker Field Saturday evening. The Bullfrogs left 11 runners on base in the contest.

Both teams return to action Sunday afternoon to conclude the series and wrap-up the Bullfrogs four-game road trip. First pitch is slated for a 1:05 p.m. start. Fans can tune in to the live radio broadcast on WOCO (107.1 FM) or online at WOCO.Caster.FM.

Cooper Morrison (Sophomore, UC Davis) and Austin Bates (Freshman, Chipola College) each topped the Green Bay offensive charts with a 2-for-4 effort at the dish. Morrison extended his current hit streak out to seven games. Ethan Ibarra (Junior, St. Cloud State) and Blaise Maris (Sophomore, Florida Tech) each finished 2-for-5.

Green Bay left its first 10 runners on base in the opening six frames of action, including the bases loaded in the first inning. With two outs in the bottom half of the 11th inning, the Dock Spiders had the winning run at third base. Dock Spiders catcher Duncan Hewitt lined a walk-off single up the middle scoring Jacob Adams from second base to give Fond du Lac the exciting win.

Fond du Lac relief pitcher Ben Probst got the win, improving to 1-0. Green Bay reliever David Toth (Freshman, Hillsdale College) took the loss, falling to 0-2. Bullfrogs starting pitcher Colby Morris (Junior, Middlebury College) had a terrific outing in his third start of the season, posting seven shut-out innings with five hits allowed and one strikeout.
