FRISCO, TEXAS - The Frisco RoughRiders will receive Texas Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland on a rehab assignment beginning tonight against the Midland RockHounds. Moreland has been on the 15-day disabled list since June 6 with a strained right hamstring.

The games on Monday and Tuesday begin at 7:05 p.m. while Wednesday's game starts at 11 a.m. Following the Midland series, the RoughRiders will remain at Dr Pepper Ballpark to face the Corpus Christi Hooks for a four-game set beginning on Thursday.

Moreland suffered the injury on June 5 in the Rangers' game at Boston while legging out a leadoff double in the seventh inning. He had to leave the game and was placed on the disabled list the next day. Prior to the injury, Moreland was having a breakout season with Texas, hitting .288 with 16 doubles, a triple, 12 home runs and 29 runs batted in.

The former Mississippi State Bulldog played in 73 games for the RoughRiders in 2009, hitting .326 with 19 doubles, three triples, eight home runs and 59 runs batted in. Moreland briefly returned to Frisco last season on a rehab assignment after suffering a strained left hamstring. In three Texas League games, he was 4 for 13 with two doubles, one run batted in and four runs scored.
