CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders and Corpus Christi Hooks split a doubleheader at Whataburger Field on Thursday evening with the Hooks taking game one 4-2 before Frisco countered with a 1-0 win in the finale.

In the finale, Frisco (23-16) scored the game's only run in the bottom of the second when Jordan Procyshen lifted a sacrifice fly into center, scoring Sherten Apostel.

Yerry Rodriguez threw four shutout innings with seven strikeouts in his start and was followed by Hever Bueno (3-1) and Fernery Ozuna, who combined for three scoreless frames to finish Frisco's sixth shutout as a team, tied for the second most in Minor League Baseball. Bueno took the win and Ozuna saved his second game of the season.

Jonathan Bermudez (2-3) was handed the loss for Corpus Christi (18-21), allowing just the one run over 5.1 innings.

In game one, the Hooks put up four runs in the second inning with a display of power. David Hensley started the scoring off with a solo homer before Jake Adams smashed a two-run home run. Chandler Taylor then went back-to-back with Adams on a solo shot of his own to make it 4-0.

Frisco came back with long balls themselves from Procyshen in the fifth and Jax Biggers in the sixth to make it 4-2, but they could not get any closer.

Joe Record (1-0) earned the win for the Hooks, allowing two runs over his 5.2 frames and Nick Hernandez took home his first save of the year with 1.1 scoreless to end the game.

In his start, Tyler Phillips (1-2) took the loss for the RoughRiders, ceding four runs over an inning. Though he did not factor into a decision, Noah Bremer was strong out of the bullpen with four shutout innings while striking out five and allowing just three baserunners.

The RoughRiders continue their series with the Hooks on Friday, June 18th with a 7:05 p.m. start. Frisco will send LHP Jake Latz (1-0, 2.89) to the mound against RHP Hunter Brown (0-3, 6.05).
