
Frisco Falls to San Antonio in Game One

FRISCO, TEXAS- The Missions took the lead in the first inning and never looked back as the RoughRiders lost 7-4 Monday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Neftali Feliz took the mound for Frisco in his first rehab start since being put on the DL.
San Antonio added the first run of the night in the first. Neftali Feliz induced a fly out before walking Dean Anna. One batter later, Cody Decker walked before Edinson Rincon hit an infield single to bring Anna home. That would be the only run to come across on Feliz's watch as he was replaced by Nick Tepesch in the third inning.
The Missions tacked on another three runs in the third after a throwing error by Chris McGuiness allowed Anna to reach safely followed by a single by Nathan Freiman. Cody Decker then launched a shot over the center field wall to put San Antonio up 4-0.
Frisco cut the lead in half tacking on two runs in the fourth. Jurickson Profar led off the half by singling up the middle. San Antonio starter Josh Geer then walked Mike Olt before Chris McGuiness hit an RBI double bringing Profar around to score. A single by Jared Prince brought Mike Olt in to score before Val Majewski hit into a double play to end the inning.
'Riders starter Nick Tepesch walked Jason Hagerty and then struck out Rymer Liriano setting the stage for Jeudy Valdez who hit a home run to make the score 6-2. The Missions added one more run in the seventh. Frisco chipped away at the lead with a solo home run by Jurickson Profar in the sixth and a solo home run by Jared Prince in the seventh to make the score 7-4. RoughRiders' relievers Wilfredo Boscan and Tim Murphy both pitched scoreless innings to close out the game.
Neftali Feliz is tagged with the loss in his first rehab start. He pitched for two innings allowing one hit and one unearned run while walking two and striking out four. Missions' starter Josh Geer picks up his fourth win of the season pitching for seven innings allowing seven hits and four runs while walking two and striking out four. Jeremy McBryde earns his tenth save of the season pitching for one inning allowing no hits and no runs while striking out one.
The RoughRiders play game two against the Missions on Tuesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Neil Ramirez (1-1, 1.89) gets the start for Frisco. He will be opposed by right-handed hurler Hayden Beard (5-5, 6.15). First pitch is at 7:05 and can be heard on 1630 KKGM or on ridersbaseball.com. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:30.
