Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

On Thursday, July 19th, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals are teaming up with Arvest Bank, Cumulus Radio stations US 94, 92.1 The Ticket, 98.3 The Keg and News/Talk 1030 KFAY for the 5th annual Bleed Blue Thursday Blood Drive. The drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) Donor Centers in Springdale at 3503 S. Thompson, and in Bentonville at 1400 SE Walton Boulevard.

Each participant during Bleed Blue Thursday will receive two general admission tickets to the Naturals game vs. Tulsa on July 24th, a collectible t-shirt featuring the 5th anniversary Naturals team logo, and will be automatically registered to win other great prizes, including autographed Naturals gear or even the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at the game! CBCO will offer free ballpark food at the drive, including hot dogs, chips and sodas.

Bleed Blue Thursday is one of the largest single-day blood drives of the summer. Since the drive began in 2008, hundreds of lives have been affected by the blood donations that the drive generates. The entire community is encouraged to wear blue on July 19 to show support for the Naturals and the lifesaving efforts of blood donors.

"Bleed Blue Thursday occurs at the perfect time this summer, because we're really running short of blood right now," CBCO Donor Recruitment Manager Meredith Bolt said. "This drive will certainly help to restore supply levels for patients at the thirty-eight area hospitals whose patients we serve. This drive is also a lot of fun. Our donors always have a great time, thanks to the generosity of the Naturals and our event sponsors."

It takes over 250 blood donations each day to meet the needs of local patients. To find out how easy it is to save lives in the Ozarks, or for more information on Bleed Blue Thursday, log on to www.cbco.org. On behalf of patients across the region, thank you for giving life to your community.
