Frisco Blows Big Lead in Loss
July 26, 2010 - Texas League (TL1)
Frisco RoughRiders News Release
Frisco blew a five-run lead in the top of the seventh inning, losing to Corpus Christi, 6-5, on Monday night.
Ryan Tatusko started for Frisco and pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just six hits while striking out three Hooks batters. But the 'Riders bullpen couldn't finish the job, as Kasey Kiker came on to relieve him in the seventh inning. Kiker walked the only three batters he faced, forcing manager Steve Buechele to call on Brennan Garr. Garr came in with the Frisco up 5-3, but was unable to control the Hooks offense. He was charged with three runs and two hits, taking the loss. Frisco pitchers walked four Corpus Christi batters in the seventh.
Hooks right fielder Jon Gaston had the game-winning hit for Corpus Christi, a three-run triple off Tim Murphy that gave the Hooks a 6-5 lead.
Frisco broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning, scoring three unearned runs with two outs. Shortstop Renny Osuna brought home the first two runs with an RBI triple into the right field corner. Second baseman Marcus Lemon then followed with an RBI single that flared right over second base and into right field. Osuna finished the night 3-4 with a home run and three RBI. He fell a single shy of hitting for the cycle.
The RoughRiders (57-42) begin a three-game road trip on Wednesday, as the club takes on the Midland RockHounds. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
Notes
Ryan Tatusko has not allowed a run to Corpus Christi over 31 innings this season.
