Tyson Baillie and the Kelowna Rockets visit Coleman Vollrath and the Victoria Royals in a clash between BC Division rivals on Friday night hockey, live on Sportsnet Pacific, West, Ontario, East and 360 at (8:00pm MT/7:00pm PT).
The Kelowna Rockets are on a role as they have collected points in ten straight games, posting a 9-0-1-0 record along the way. Kelowna became the first WHL Club this season to tally 100 goals and remain at the top in the goal scoring category. Tyson Baillie was recently named the WHL's Player of the Week for his stellar play and now sits second in points amongst all WHL skaters with 42 (16g-26a) to go with a solid plus-8 rating. Special teams has been a major factor into Kelowna's positive results as of late as they own the League's second best power play with a conversion rate of 25.8% and a penalty-kill unit that ranks seventh-best with a rate of 82.7%.
The Victoria Royals currently sit second in the BC Division and are only three points back of the Kelowna Rockets for first place. Alex Forsberg is having a productive campaign for the Royals having tallied seven goals and 31 points. Royals goaltender Coleman Vollrath has been consistent for his Club all season long with 13 wins, a .919 save percentage and a 2.27 goals against average. The native of Calgary, AB, was named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 11th earlier this season. Victoria owns the best penalty kill efficiency in the WHL with a success rate of 85.4% and have tallied three short-handed goals along the way.
Victoria won the lone match-up against Kelowna earlier this season by a score of 3-0 in Kelowna. Vollrath picked up the shutout in backstopping 26 shots.
