Prince Albert concludes home stand with setback against Edmonton

Prince Albert, SK - Lane Bauer scored twice for the Edmonton Oil Kings as they defeated the Prince Albert Raiders 5-1 on Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

The Oil Kings jumped out of the gate early with a pair of goals in the first period. Things did not get any easier for the Raiders in the next period as Edmonton connected in the first minute of the second. Prince Albert would score at the 2:37 mark of the middle frame, but the Oil Kings defence stood tall the rest of the way to deny the Raiders.

Prince Albert's lone goal of the night came off the stick of Matteo Gennaro. Reid Gardiner and Jesse Lees registered assists on the play.

Bauer's two goals led the Oil Kings, while Brett Pollock notched three assists in support. Edmonton also received goals on the night from Dario Meyer (1g-1a), Brandon Baddock, and Aaron Irving.

Raiders' rookie puck stopper Ian Scott got the start but was pulled after making 11 saves on 14 shots. Rylan Parenteau turned away 19 of 21 shots in relief.

Payton Lee got the win for the Oil Kings with 25 saves on 26 attempts.

The Oil Kings outshot the Raiders 35-26. Prince Albert went 1-for-5 on the power play, while Edmonton was 2-for-6.

The Raiders record slips to 15-7-2-1, while the Oil Kings improve to 10-14-3-0.

The Prince Albert Raiders hit the road on Saturday, November 28 as they visit the Swift Current Broncos. The team returns to the Art Hauser Centre on Saturday, December 12 when they host the Kamloops Blazers for Canadian Tire Teddy Bear Toss Night.
