Fresno Grizzlies News Release

FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies, boasting the Pacific Coast League's best record in the month of May, will return to Chukchansi Park on Friday, May 29th to kick off a four-game, weekend homestand against the Portland Beavers, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres.

The top farm club of the San Francisco Giants returns to Downtown Fresno on Friday, May 29th to host the Portland Beavers for the second and final time in 2009. Friday night is Fresno State Night at Chukchansi Park, and the theme will extend onto the field of play. The Grizzlies will be wearing red-and-blue jerseys reminiscent of the uniforms worn by the Bulldogs on their improbable run to the 2008 College World Series championship.

Following Friday's action, the jerseys will be auctioned off live atop the first-base dugout, with proceeds benefiting the Kremen School of Education at Fresno State. Auction winners have the opportunity to meet and take a photo with their player before getting the jersey autographed to take home.

Also following the conclusion of the series opener between Fresno and Portland, Friday Night Fireworks presented by the National Honey Board will light up the sky over Downtown Fresno. And for a select group, the fun won't stop until the following morning as the Grizzlies will host a sleepover on the field for more than 600 kids on Scout Night.

The first 2,500 fans into Chukchansi Park on Saturday, May 30th will receive a one-of-a-kind gift, as Saturday is Grizzlies Hat Giveaway Night, presented by Ahart Benefit Insurance Services. Following the 5th inning, join the thousands in attendance to cheer on The Drag Kings, Minor League Baseball's premier, infield-dragging dance crew.

Come to Chukchansi Park early on SaveMart Sunday, May 31st, to take advantage of the Future Giants Autograph Session on the concourse before the game. And make sure you stick around after the final out in the 9th inning so that the kids can run the bases thanks to Del Taco.

The Grizzlies and Beavers wrap up their final series of the season in Fresno on Monday, June 1st. Like all Monday's at Chukchansi Park, this means the best sports entertainment value in Minor League Baseball, Monday Madness presented by ABC30. For just $22, fans get two Field Level Reserve Tickets, two hot dogs, two sodas, two Wild Water Adventure Park passes, and two rounds of mini-golf at Blackbeard's.

The Pacific Coast League's best team in the month of May returns to Chukchansi Park on Fresno State Night, Friday, May 29th when they welcome the Portland Beavers to Downtown Fresno.
