Portland Beavers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers today announced the team will conduct a series of three Nike youth summer baseball camps at PGE Park in 2009 as part of its annual camps program.
Beavers Nike summer camps are led by head camps instructor Tommy Sandt, a former Beavers coach and player, as well as select members of the 2009 Beavers team. Each of the three camps will feature professional instruction in hitting, pitching, fielding and throwing in a fun and educational environment. New in 2009, Nike will implement elements of their SPARQ training, a program that emphasizes stretching and agility exercises, into the Beavers' summer camps program.
The Beavers Nike summer camps schedule features three, three-day camps at PGE Park on July 31-August 2, August 19-21 and August 28-30. Each camp will run from 9 a.m. to 12 noon daily and is open to kids ages 7-13. Each participant receives professional, on-field training from the Beavers, an official Nike camp t-shirt and tickets to a Beavers game. Camps cost $150 per camp.
Campers enrolled in one of the Beavers three summer camps before June 5 can save $10 off camp registration through a special earlybird discount. Other discounts are available for multiple-camp sign ups, group registrations and Beavers Kid's Club members; visit www.portlandbeavers.com for details.
