New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Metairie, LA - The New Orleans kick off a busy homestand, playing nine games in eight days, when they face the Round Rock Express at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
The Zephyrs will honor America's military on Friday during Military Appreciation Night, presented by Textron Marine & Land Systems, by wearing camouflage jerseys that fans will have an opportunity to bid on in a silent auction throughout the game. Proceeds will benefit the Mark W. Graham Foundation, an organization that honors and aids those who serve the country in the name of the Lafayette native who was killed in Iraq in 2007. Pregame festivities will feature a military flyover, with the night capped by a fireworks show.
Following Saturday's 6:00 p.m. contest, Zephyr Field will play host to one of the country's most popular tribute bands, Mini Kiss. "The Hottest, Littlest Tribute Band in the World," made up entirely of little people, will perform classic Kiss hits while in full costume.
Sunday is Kids Day, so children can enjoy a playground of inflatables on the plaza before the 2:00 p.m. game, and can run the bases afterwards.
The Zephyrs welcome the Albuquerque Isotopes for a series beginning Tuesday that will include a doubleheader on Thursday, with the twinbill set to begin at 6:00 p.m. On Friday, June 5th, fans will have a chance to meet WWE superstar Jack Swagger. The wrestler will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and signing autographs, and a fireworks show will follow the game. The pitching matchups for the Round Rock series are expected to be:
Friday vs. Round Rock (7:00 PM): RH Daniel Barone vs. LH Josh Muecke
Saturday vs. Round Rock (6:00 PM): RH Rick Vandenhurk vs. RH Bud Norris
Sunday vs. Round Rock (2:00 PM): RH Clay Hensley vs. RH Yorman Bazardo
Monday vs. Round Rock (11:30 AM): RH Ricky Nolasco vs. RH Jose Capellan
