Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

Bourne, Massachusetts: The Vermont Frost Heaves led from wire to wire and defeated the Cape Cod Frenzy 122-103 before an supportive crowd at Bourne Middle School. The Frenzy have now lost five straight games to Vermont, and are currently on a five game losing streak including last week's four game road trip, which included two stops in Vermont.

The Frost Heaves led 33-14 early in the game behind the hot three point shooting of guard Aaron Cook (17 points). The Frenzy used a 9-2 run to close within 35-23 after the first quarter.

During the second quarter the Frenzy showed signs of life. Steve Hailey fed Rob Sanders for a monster jam on the baseline. Walk on power forward Charlie Large (Umass Dartmouth) saw his first pro action of his career, and gave the Frenzy some energy on the board. At the half, the Vermont lead was nine - at 58-49.

The third quarter saw the Frenzy get within three at 62-59 midway through the third quarter, but the Frost Heaves went on a 16-4 run to put the game away. After that, the outcome was never in doubt.

The Frost Heaves, who are ranked #2 in the ABA, improve to 15-3 and the Frenzy drop to 6-9. Cape Cod was led in scoring by Richmond Pittman with 21 points, Rob Sanders with 16, and Jamaal Brooks with 13. Vermont's leading scorer's were Kelvin Parker and Markus Austin with 18 each. Six players scored in double figures for the Heaves.

Next up for the Frenzy will be the Newark Express, who visit Bourne Middle School this Sunday at 6:05 PM.
