Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo Silverbacks announced today that Sahlen Packing Company has joined the "Do Your Best, Never Quit" community outreach initiative as title sponsor of the campaign. Players from the Buffalo Silverbacks will visit local Western NY community youth centers and schools to spread their message. The "Do Your Best, Never Quit" philosophy teaches children to focus on the effort they apply to a situation rather than the end results.

Lead speaker of the initiative, player and assistant coach Modie Cox stated "We want the children to know it's not about the score at the end of the game. No matter how challenging a situation is, as long as you do your best and don't quit, no one can take anything away from you. Focusing on the effort not the outcome will make anyone, man, woman or child, a stronger and healthier individual in any part of their life. This isn't just about basketball; it's about all of life."

Last summer the Silverbacks made more than 75 appearances at local community centers and schools and are excited to continue the effort due to the overwhelming positive feedback from WNY community leaders and children alike.

Chris Cauley, VP of Sales/Marketing added "Sahlen is proud to support the "Do Your Best, Never Quit" initiative. We feel it is vital for our youth to have role models who interact with them in a very positive way with the hope of leaving a lasting impression. Through this message we seek to give children a mindset that they can embrace as they grow and develop into responsible adults. As Modie stated, it's not about basketball, it's about how you should live your life."

The Buffalo Silverbacks are currently scheduling "Do Your Best, Never Quit" seminars. For more information on how to bring the Silverbacks to your club or school, please visit www.buffalosilverbacks.com or email info@buffalosilverbacks.com.
