Freedom to host "Striking Out Cancer" Night

FLORENCE, KY - On Tuesday, September 1 the Florence Freedom are teaming up with the I Have Wings Breast Cancer Foundation for âStriking Out Cancer Night' at Champion Window Field.
To promote awareness and extend a hand of support and encouragement, the Freedom are teaming up with local businesses in donating over 3,200 tickets to cancer victims and survivors all over the Tri-State.
"We want to thank all of the people and businesses that have stepped up in helping donate these tickets to cancer victims and survivors," Freedom General Manager Kari Rumfield said. "Cancer touches everyone's family in some way and I'm just proud the Freedom can do their part in helping families beat this disease."
The Freedom encourage families that have been effected by cancer to call (859) 594-HITS and to claim their tickets for a night specifically set aside for them.
Events that night will include a pre-game âCatch for the Cause' where fans can play catch down on the field for $5, a 50/50 drawing, jersey auction - bid to win your favorite Freedom's pink jersey, and cancer survivors taking the field during the 7th inning stretch for a special in-game tribute. All of the proceeds will benefit the Ashley Thompson Foundation and I Have Wings.
I Have Wings Breast Cancer Foundation is an organization designed to support families when there is a breast cancer diagnosis. I Have Wings eases families' financial burdens by providing emergency assistance with prosthetics (such as wigs, prosthesis, and compression sleeves) for the underinsured, helping with utility bills, mammograms, food, clothing, and much more!
