Florence, Ky. - The Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, begin a three-game set today with the Washington Wild Things today at 7:05 p.m.

Entering the final third of the season, the Freedom (27-36) stand just 4 1/2 games back of the Wild Things (30-30) for the final playoff spot. Since June 22, Florence is 19-11, which is the second best record in the league during that stretch.

The Frontier League playoff push is sure to be a good one. All nine teams vying for the final playoff spot are no more than 4 1/2 games behind, including five teams within just two games of the Wild Things.

Florence will sent Patrick McGrath (2-4, 8.10 ERA), Tony Vocca (0-1, 5.54 ERA), and Jordan Kraus (1-2, 2.63 ERA) to the hill in the set. Washington will counter with Trevor Foss (8-3, 2.71 ERA), Chase Cunningham (3-6, 4.26 ERA), and Matt Fraudin (4-4, 2.68 ERA).

In early July, Washington and Florence met for a three-game series in Pennsylvania and each game was decided by three runs or less. The Wild Things took the opener 4-3 before the Freedom bounced back to take game two 3-2. In the rubber match, Washington took the series with a 4-1 victory.

The Freedom begin their nine-game home stand today and there are a myriad of fun promotions on deck. Friday is Pokemon Night with postgame fireworks. Saturday is Video Gamers Night with special themed jerseys and a postgame concert from DV8. The series wraps up Sunday with Halloween in July and another Family Sunday.
