Lynchburg Hillcats News Release

The Keys took down the Hillcats 5-1 in game two of the four-game series in Frederick. After winning five in a row, Lynchburg has dropped the first two games of this series at Harry Grove Stadium.

Frederick wasted little time getting on the board as they scored twice in the bottom of the first to grab an early lead. Greg Miclat singled in a run and Billy Rowell brought in a run with an RBI walk. Lynchurg responded with a run in the top of the fourth inning with a solo home run off the bat of Alex Buchholz to trim the lead to one at 2-1.

The Keys tacked on three runs to their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Five straight men reached after the first two in the inning were retired. Xavier Avery, Greg Miclat and Jacob Julius all had RBI base-hits in the frame for Frederick to give them a 5-1 advantage.

The loss went to starter Brad Boxberger (3-5) for Lynchburg (24-31) and the win went to Brett Jacobsen (4-0) for Frederick (32-23). The series continues on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. with game three of the four-game set at Harry Grove Stadium. Right-hander Mark Serrano (2-2, 3.38) will get the start for the Hillcats opposite lefty Nate Nery (3-5, 3.86) for the Keys.
