Freddy Ray, the Greyhounds 2007 starting quarterback, was awarded the Main Street Bank "Player of the Game" Trophy for his performance in the Greyhounds opening game against the Lexington Horsemen at WesBanco Arena on Saturday, March 24th.

Ray in his first year as a Hound, went 13 for 28 passing for 234 yards with 2 passing touchdowns completed to Darrell Dowery and Demetrious Wilbert. In addition Ray ran for two rushing touchdowns.

Despite Ray's effort the Greyhounds fell to their rival, the Horsemen, by a 44 to 37 score at WesBanco Arena. The Greyhounds led in total offensive yards 269 to 168 and in time of possession, however it was not enough to overecome a couple of special teams errors and Hound penalties.

The award is chosen by the radio play-by-play and color analysts at the end of each home game.

The next Home Game for the Hounds will be against the Bloomington Extreme in the freindly confines of WesBanco Arena on Saturday April 7, 2007 with kick-off at 7:05 EDT.
