LaDrelle Bryant Named Player of the Week, Luzayadio Honorable Mention

EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce that defensive end LaDrelle Bryant has been named as the UIF Defensive Player of the Week for his Week Two performance against the Ohio Valley Greyhounds. Bryant made 7.5 tackles, including 3 tackles for a loss, and 2 sacks in the 47-24 victory over Ohio Valley. Bryant also recovered a fumble against the Greyhounds and nearly scored a touchdown in the process. His fumble recovery set up a 1-yard touchdown run by Michael Cosey on the very next play. After two weeks of play, Bryant leads the team with 11 total tackles on the season. Bryant was scouted and placed by the indoor football scouting bureau.
BlueCats kicker Ton-Ton Luzayadio was also recognized by the league for his performance in Week Two. Luzayadio earned "Honorable Mention" honors for UIF Special Teams Player of the Week. Against the Greyhounds, Luzayadio scored 15 points, as he was 4-5 on his field goal attempts, connecting from 26, 38, 14, and 22 yards. His lone field goal miss came from 43 yards and narrowly missed wide right. Luzayadio was 3-5 on extra point kicks, both of those missed kicks were blocked.
Rock River quarterback Ben Sankey was named UIF Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2 and Sioux Falls kicker Adam Hicks was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
This Saturday, Bryant, Luzayadio, and the rest of the Evansville BlueCats travel to Lexington to take on the Horsemen at Rupp Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30pm Evansville time.
