Frank Vatrano Named CCM/AHL Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI- The American Hockey League announced today that Providence Bruins center Frank Vatrano was named CCM/AHL Player of the Week, for the period ending on October 11, 2015.

The Providence rookie scored 5 goals in 2 games. Vatrano's scoring streak started on Friday, October 9, when he scored 1:49 minutes left in regulation, forcing overtime in the Bruins' season opener.

On Sunday Vatrano scored 4 times on 6 shots, earning his first professional career hat trick. His first goal of the game on Sunday was scored seven seconds into the first period. His third goal on Sunday was the game- winner scored in the third period.

The 21 year old East Longmeadow, MA native was signed to an entry level contract by the Boston Bruins on March 13, 2015. He joined the Providence Bruins last spring at the end of his sophomore season at UMASS- Amherst of Hockey East (NCAA), and made his professional debut on March 27, 2015 at Hartford.
