Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC defender Franco Escobar and midfielder Artur were named to the Team of the Matchday roster for Matchday 7. The Dynamo earned a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the San Jose Earthquakes to extend their winning streak to three matches in league play. The victory also marked the 100th triumph in league play for Houston at Shell Energy Stadium.

After falling behind in the first minute, the Dynamo fought back to equalize the score in the 81st minute after Artur played a ball into the box to forward Sebas Ferreira. The 26-year-old Paraguayan made his first start of the season after being sidelined due to an injury in Houston's opening match of the year.

Artur led the Dynamo in several key stats categories on Saturday, including touches (128), passes (116), accurate passes (106), passes in the final third (56), final third entries (27), possession won (8) and chances created (3).

Houston took the lead minutes later following a corner kick from forward Amine Bassi that was initially cleared. Escobar was well positioned to capitalize on the loose ball for his first goal of the season.

On the defensive end, the Argentinian won seven duels, all five of his tackles and managed one interception.

The Dynamo hit the road for two matches, starting with the Chicago Fire FC on April 6, followed by a trip to Minnesota United FC on April 13.
