Wichita Wingnuts News Release

WICHITA, KS- The Wingnuts were held scoreless until the 10th inning, but their one run was not enough, as they fell 3-1 to Sioux City on Monday at Lawrence Dumont Stadium. Explorers' starter Alexander Francisco pitched nine scoreless innings, allowing just four hits, to run his record to 5-0. The Explorers scored three runs in the top of the 10th off Doug Hurn (0-1), the Wingnuts fifth pitcher of the night. The Wingnuts had first and third with two outs in the bottom of the 10th before closer Brett Reid struck out Derek Schermerhorn to end the threat. The Wingnuts, now two games behind the first place St. Paul Saints, begin a six-game road trip on Tuesday at Sioux Falls.

The Wingnuts will return home next Tuesday to begin a six-game homestand. For tickets call the Wingnuts at (316) 264-4625.
