Ottawa 67's News Release

Minnesota Wild President/General Manager Doug Risebrough announced today that Ottawa 67's right-winger Matt Foy has signed a multi-year contract with the National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild. Terms of the deal have not yet been released. The Oakville, Ontario-native was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Foy, the recipient of the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy as the Ontario Hockey League's top scoring right-winger with 132 points in 68 games last season, was slated to play as an overage player for Ottawa in 2003-04.

"We are extremely happy for Matt and wish him all the best wherever he plays this season." Said Ottawa 67's Head Coach and General Manager, Brian Kilrea.

Foy is scheduled to be in the Wild lineup tonight in Minnesota for a pre-season game against the Vancouver Canucks. It has not yet been determined where Foy will play during the 2003-04 season.

The Ottawa 67's play the Greyhounds in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday night, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. There will be no radio or television coverage of that game because of prior commitments to air the Ottawa Senators pre-season game and the Ottawa Renegades regular season game in Edmonton.

Live updates are available on the Ottawa 67's Website at www.ottawa67s.com.

The 67's play the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday, September 21 at 2:00 p.m. and that game will be aired live on the Team 1200.
