FOX Sports Personality Rob Stone to Host 2018 Rowdies Season Kickoff Party
March 16, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Tampa Bay Rowdies News Release
(St. Petersburg, Fla.) - The Tampa Bay Rowdies will have a very special guest at Monday, March 19's Season Kickoff Party, as FOX Sports' Rob Stone will be hosting the annual event. A Tampa Bay native, Rob Stone has been an avid supporter of the Rowdies since the early years, from having season tickets to being the Honorary Captain at the 2015 Home Opener.
The 2018 Season Kickoff Party will be your chance to be the first to see the new 2018 primary and secondary kit, while also meeting all the members of your 2018 Tampa Bay Rowdies. There will be free food and drinks for those in attendance, including Big Storm Brewing Co.'s "Kick in the Grass" Lager! The event will start at 7 p.m., with doors at the Mahaffey Theater opening at 6 p.m. for 2018 Season Ticket Holders, and 6:30 for the general public.
Stone was born in Tampa Bay, with all four of his children also born at the same hospital, Saint Jude's in Tampa. In fact, attending a Tampa Bay Rowdies game was also his first ever live professional sporting event.
In 1995, he was a weekend sports anchor and sports reporter for WTOG-TV in Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla. During the 1996 and 1997 Major League Soccer seasons, Stone was an analyst for the Tampa Bay Mutiny matches on SportsChannel Florida, now FOX Sports Florida.
After years working for ESPN, he joined FOX Sports in 2012. There he became the lead studio host for all of FOX Sports' soccer, college football and college basketball programming. This upcoming summer, Stone will be the lead host for FOX's coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup from Red Square in Moscow. In his years at FOX Sports, Stone has enjoyed anchoring coverage of Major League Soccer, the U.S. Men's and Women's National Teams, Copa America, Gold Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and England's FA Cup.
Fans, don't forget to RSVP for Monday, March 19's event, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Please let us know how many guests will be attending by emailing RSVP@rowdiessoccer.com.
Parking at the Mahaffey Theater will be $10., but you may also park at the Al Lang Stadium lot for $5.
