
Fourth Annual Amerks Street Hockeyfest Set for Sunday, August 16 at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team will host its fourth annual Amerks Street HockeyFest for kids ages 18 and under on Sunday, Aug. 16 at the Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex, located in Brighton, NY, on the campus of Monroe Community College (MCC).
Registration for the street hockey tournament is now open at www.amerks.com/StreetHockey. The coed tournament is open to boys and girls ages 18 and under at a cost of $125 per team. Each team will consist of up to five players and will be guaranteed at least three games in the all-day, rain or shine event, which begins at 9:00 a.m. (Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.). Every player will receive an Amerks Street HockeyFest t-shirt and ticket vouchers (five total per team) for tickets to the Amerks 2015-16 Home Opener (date/opponent TBA). Registrants of the tournament will also be able to purchase additional vouchers to the Amerks Home Opener at a discounted rate.
Registration for the tournament is open on a first come, first serve basis. The tournament will consist of six divisions based on USA Hockey guidelines for the upcoming season.
- Microns - 6 and under (birth year 2009 or later)
- Mites - 8 or under (birth year 2007-2008)
- Squirts - 10 or under (birth year 2005-2006)
- Pee Wee - 12 or under (birth year 2003-2004)
- Bantam - 14 or under (birth year 2001-2002)
- Midget - 18 and under (birth year 1997-2000)
Games will be played 3-on-3 plus a goaltender and one optional substitute on the parking lot surface at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex. Participants are responsible for bringing their own equipment, including sneakers, hockey sticks and gloves. Goaltender equipment is mandatory, while helmets are mandatory for microns, mites and squirts. Additional protective gear is optional, but recommended. Each player will also need to complete a waiver prior to participating.
The deadline for registration is Friday, Aug. 7 at 5:00 p.m. or when registration is full. Fans with questions regarding the Amerks Street HockeyFest can contact the team's front office at 585-454-5335.
The fourth annual Amerks Street HockeyFest will take place during the Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex 2015 Summer Fest on August 16.
