
Four Thorns FC Players Named to U.S. Women's National Team Roster

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC midfielders Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan and Allie Long and defender Emily Sonnett have been named to the U.S. Women's National Team's 24-player training camp roster in preparation for matches against Switzerland on Oct. 19 and Oct. 23, it was announced today.
The Oct. 19 match against Switzerland will be played at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, with a live broadcast on ESPN2; kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (Pacific). The Oct. 23 contest will be played at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn., with a live broadcast on FS1; kickoff is set for 11:45 a.m. (Pacific). Head coach Jill Ellis will name 18 players to suit up for each match.
Heath (124 caps), Horan (26 caps), Long (16 caps) and Sonnett (11 caps) were all included on the U.S. Women's National Team roster that competed in a pair of friendlies in a 9-0 win over Thailand on Sept. 15 and a 3-1 victory over the Netherlands on Sept. 18. Against Thailand on Sept. 15, Heath recorded her 16th career international goal, while Horan recorded an assist. In the Sept. 18 match against the Netherlands, Long tallied her third career international goal in her 12th appearance of 2016, while Heath tallied her seventh assist of the year.
