Four Smokies Named to North's All-Star Starting Lineup

KODAK, Tenn. - Steve Clevenger, Marwin Gonzalez, Rebel Ridling and Matt Spencer of the Tennessee Smokies have been named Thursday to the tentative starting lineup for the Southern League North Division All-Star team. Their selection was announced by the Southern League of Professional Baseball and made by North Division manager Jim Pankovits, who currently manages the Jackson Generals.

Morristown, Tenn. native Spencer will bat third and play right field, Rebel Ridling will be the designated hitter and bat fifth, Clevenger will catch batting sixth and Marwin Gonzalez will bat ninth starting at shortstop.

The four starters will be joining teammates Ryan Flaherty, Brett Jackson, Blake Lalli, Rafael Dolis, Trey McNutt and Rob Whitenack on the North Division roster at Pringles Park in Jackson, Tenn. for the June 21 game. Former Smokies Marco Carrillo and DJ LeMahieu were also selected to the North Division roster. However, due to Carrillo's promotion to Triple-A Iowa, and LeMahieu's promotion to MLB Chicago, they have been replaced on the roster.
