Bowie, MD - Walter Young and Tony Mota each drove in two runs in a four-run fourth inning as the Baysox beat Reading, 4-3 in Eastern League play for the Baysox fifth straight win. Scott Rice (3-4) struck out seven through five innings allowing only one unearned run on three hits. Sendy Rleal earned his third save in an inning and a third ending the game on a double play. In the fourth for Bowie, Young drove in Eugene Kingsale, who had singled and Val Majewski who had walked. Young and Eli Whiteside then scored on a two-run double by Mota who drilled a shot over the centerfielder's head. For the Phillies Gavin Floyd (2-4) suffered the loss despite throwing all six innings. Other than a four-run fourth, Floyd retired the rest of the batters in order. After a double from Danny Gonzalez, Ryan Howard hit a two run double in the sixth to bring the Phillies within one run and what would be a final 4-3 score. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, starting at 1:05 pm. Despite the rainout of game two, fans at Prince George's Stadium still enjoyed a splendid fireworks display. Saturday's festivities remain as scheduled with game time at 7:05 p.m. Pitching for the Baysox is former major-leaguer Ruben Quevedo and the Phillies probable pitcher is left-handed pitcher Kevin Dougherty.
