Four Players Released From Sea Dogs' Training Camp Roster

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations announced today that goaltender Jared Kelly and forwards Patrick Pettigrew, Brandon McDonald, and Gino Goguen have been released from the team's training camp roster effective immediately. Twenty-seven active players now remain in camp.

Kelly, 18, was a free agent invite to this year's camp. The Charlottetown, PEI native now becomes an affiliate player with the Sea Dogs. Kelly was 12-2 with a league-best 2.70 G.A.A. as a member of the Kensington Vipers and Sherwood Falcons of the IJHL last season. The 5'10", 180 lb. net minder will now report to the training camp of the Summerside Western Capitals (MJAHL).

Pettigrew, 17, was selected by Saint John in the 11th round (189th overall) of the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft. The 6'1", 170 lb. winger tallied 7G-8A-15P in 28 games played with Ulysee Prep (UJHL) last season.

Goguen, 17, recorded 36G-34A-70P with the Moncton Flyers (NB-PEI MM) during the 2008-09 campaign. The Grand-Digue, NB native was chosen by the Sea Dogs in Round Eight (136th overall) of June's entry draft. Cambellton selected the 5'10", 181 lb. forward in the first round (7th overall) of the 2009 MJAHL Entry Draft.

McDonald, 19, was acquired by Saint John in the sixth round (93rd overall) of the 2007 QMJHL Entry Draft. The 6'3", 178 lb. winger registered 24GP-7G-14A-21P-163PIM with the Mount Pearl Blades (SJJHL) last year. McDonald's MJAHL rights are owned by the Yarmouth Mariners.

The Sea Dogs (3-1) will host the Lewiston MAINEiacs (3-1) in QMJHL pre-season action on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00pm. Tickets to this match are available by calling the Harbour Station Box Office at (506) 657-1234.
