Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Albuquerque, NM - A four-run top of the first inning was too much to overcome for the Albuquerque Isotopes, who fell 9-5 to Las Vegas on Thursday evening at home.

Starting pitcher Jeff Criswell allowed four home runs in his four frames of work, as the Isotopes have dropped two of the first three contests in this series.

Topes Scope: - Cole Tucker singled and walked to extend his on-base streak to 25 games, tying Michael Toglia for the team high this season. Tucker is slashing .326/.458/.505 with nine doubles, a triple, two homers, 13 RBI and 24 walks during the stretch. 17 of the free passes have come in the past 14 contests.

- Roman Quinn made his Rockies organizational debut, starting in center field and batting leadoff. Quinn was 1-for-5 with a line-drive RBI double in the third inning.

- Jimmy Herron tallied his 12th multi-hit game over his last 24 contests. He is slashing .372/.481/.616 with seven doubles, a triple, four homers, 20 RBI and 12 stolen bases during the red-hot stretch. Overall, Herron has produced consecutive multi-hit performances on seven instances this season.

- Connor Kaiser was 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI double. He is 6-for-12 with three extra-base hits, six walks and three stolen bases over his past four games. Kaiser has reached base in 12 of his last 18 plate appearances. His 12 steals for the season mark a career-high.

- In 19 starts this season, Criswell has thrown a total of 379 first-inning pitches, an average of 20 per outing. Tonight was the seventh time he was scored upon in the opening frame.

- Criswell's four homers surrendered tied a career-worst set April 13 at El Paso. He has the second-most long balls allowed by an Isotopes hurler this year, behind Josh Rogers who tied a franchise record with five on May 7 vs. Sugar Land.

- The opposition launched four or more long balls for the 10th time this season and third in the last nine contests. Albuquerque pitching has now given up 25 home runs in nine games on this homestand.

- Las Vegas tallied eight extra-base hits, 11th time the Isotopes have given up eight or more. It has taken place three times over the last six contests against the River Cats and Aviators.

- Albuquerque has surrendered multiple runs in the first inning 26 times this season.

- Speedster Esteury Ruiz stole two bases, meaning Isotopes catchers have not thrown out an opposing baserunner in their last 25 attempts.

- After splitting the first two contests of a series this season, Albuquerque is 7-7 in the third game.

- Aviators starter Zack Godley made his first appearance at Isotopes Park since taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning with Reno on April 19, 2017. He allowed six hits and four runs in five innings tonight, earning the win.

On Deck: The Isotopes host Las Vegas again tomorrow at 6:35 pm. Youth Jerseys will be given to the first 2,000 fans, courtesy of Lovelace Health System. Right-handed pitcher Karl Kauffmann is scheduled to start for Albuquerque against a hurler to be determined for the Aviators.
