Four Homers Power Hens Past Clippers

Alex Presley and Chad Huffman got things started with solo shots in the first, to lead the Mud Hens to a 7-3 win over Columbus on Friday at Huntington Park. The Hens hit four home runs to power the offense.

For Presley, his lead-off home run was the first in a Mud Hens uniform since Cameron Maybin did the trick on April 30 at Charlotte. For Huffman, his blast comes a day after he exploded for 6 RBI on Thursday at Columbus.

Dean Green and Dixon Machado also homered for Toledo. Green's was a solo shot in the third. Machado's was a 2-run blast in the fifth. Green also had an RBI double in the fifth. Steven Moya added an RBI single in the second.

Donn Roach went 6.1 innings for Toledo to pick up the win, improving his record to 3-1 with Toledo. Preston Guilmet and Logan Kensing came out of the pen to help close the door on Columbus.

Toledo improves to 67-74, while the division champs fall to 80-61. The Hens will play their final road game of 2016 on Saturday at Columbus, sending RHP Mike Pelfrey (0-0, 3.00 ERA) to the mound on his second MLB rehab appaerance. Columbus sends LHP Shawn Morimando (5-1, 2.62 ERA) to the hill.
