
Four Blazers Go to NHL Camps

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have four members of their hockey club that will be attending NHL training camps this week.
Jermaine Loewen was selected by the Dallas Stars in the seventh round of the 2018 NHL Draft. The 20-year-old forward enjoyed a career year with 36 goals, 28 assists and 64 points in 66 games during the 2017-18 season. He will compete with Stars prospects at the Traverse City prospect tournament.
Dylan Ferguson will join the Vegas Golden Knights for camp in Las Vegas. The 20-year-old goaltender was originally selected by the Dallas Stars in the seventh round of the 2017 NHL Draft, but was traded to Vegas shortly after. He made his NHL debut with Vegas last season and will play in the Vegas Rookie Faceoff tournament September 8th - 11th.
Defenseman Montana Onyebuchi is headed to Tampa Bay Lightning camp on a free agent tryout. The 18-year-old from Dugald, MB was acquired last season from the Everett Silvertips. He had 4 goals, 13 assists and 17 points in 2017-18. He will compete with Lightning prospects in the Prospect Showcase in Estero, Florida from September 8th - 11th.
Defenseman Sean Strange will be at the Colorado Avalanche training camp on a free agent tryout. The Victoria, BC native had eight assists in his first season with the Blazers in 2017-18. The 18-year-old will participate with Avalanche prospects at the Vegas Rookie Faceoff tournament.
The Blazers next WHL preseason action is this weekend when they host the Kelowna Rockets on Friday, September 7th. Game time is 7:00pm at the Sandman Centre. For tickets call 250-828-3339 or visit the Blazers Box Office.
