Owen Sound Attack News Release

NHL Central Scouting seems to be quite fond of Attack players these days as four players have moved their way up the mid-term rankings for North American skaters.

The highest ranked Attack player is defenseman Chris Bigras at 19th, while forward Zach Nastasiuk has been ranked 33rd. The two minor hockey teammates turned OHL teammates have put together impressive sophomore seasons and are representing the Attack at the 2013 NHL CHL Home Hardware Top Prospects game in Halifax on Wednesday.

Bigras was the Attack's 2012 Playoff MVP and has 5 goals and 21 assists to go along with a +26 rating in 2012/2013. Nastasiuk, the Attack's First Round Pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection has 11 goals, 10 assists and a +16 rating in 36 games.

Cameron Brace is a nineteen year old forward who has rocketed up the OHL scoring charts this season and finds himself ranked 101st. The Markham native sits 15th amongst OHL point getters with 49 points and 7th amongst goal scorers with 26 goals. Brace is also the OHL's leader in short-handed goals with five.

Brandon Hope also made the list, ranked 22nd among North American goaltenders. Hope holds a record of 8-6, accompanied by a 2.60 GAA and .915 save percentage. This is the 18 year old's first season with the Owen Sound Attack.

Also of note, Sean Malone is ranked 98th in North America. Malone is currently with the US U-18 Team and his rights were acquired this past fall from the Erie Otters by the Attack.
