Montreal Alouettes News Release

Montreal, December 4, 2013 - The Canadian Football League unveiled its 2013 CFL All-Stars on Wednesday, with four Alouettes making the list.

Linebacker: CHIP COX (4th selection)

CFL All-Star: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013

Cox earns his fourth CFL All-Star selection after being crowned the league's Most Outstanding Defensive Player following a season filled with personal bests. The eight-year veteran racked up career highs in defensive tackles (115) and sacks (12), good for first and fourth in the CFL respectively. With his 115 tackles on the year, Cox broke former Alouette Tracy Gravely's team record 110 set in 1996, accomplishing the feat in Week 19 on his way to earning Defensive Player of the Month honours in both August and October while also earning a pair of Defensive Player of the Week honours in Weeks 13 and 17.

Receiver: S.J. GREEN (1st selection)

CFL All-Star: 2013

Green's first CFL All-Star selection was unanimous among the panel of 50 voters as he recorded his third-straight 1,000-yard season in 2013 while also finding the end zone for a personal best 13 times, placing him first among CFL receivers in that category. He caught passes from four different QBs this season and was on the receiving end of all three of Troy Smith's, Tanner Marsh's and Josh Neiswander's first career CFL touchdowns.

Defensive Back: JERALD BROWN (1st selection)

CFL All-Star: 2013

Brown had a pair of memorable outings against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2013, recovering a fumble and returning it 55 yards for a touchdown in Week 8, and snagging a one-handed interception in Week 14. His five interceptions this year also tie a career best for the Alouettes defensive back.

Cornerback: GEOFF TISDALE (1st selection)

CFL All-Star: 2013

Tisdale forced the team's first turnover of 2013 after intercepting a pass from Buck Pierce at Investors Group Field as Montreal opened the season with a road win over Winnipeg. He also tallied 54 defensive tackles and a league-best seven interceptions in his first year with the Alouettes. Tisdale's best game was a Week 11 outing in which he returned a fumble 47 yards for the score and also recorded an interception.

The All-Stars were selected by a panel comprised of Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) members and CFL head coaches.
