The RoughRiders (13-10, 49-43) jumped on the board first in the fourth inning when Foscue rammed a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning against Springfield (13-9, 44-47) starter Gordon Graceffo (5-2). It was Foscue's fifth home run of the season and his first since June 9th in Amarillo.

In the fifth, Frisco tacked on when Stowers hammered his second home run in as many games to make it 2-0. It was Stowers' sixth home run of the season and between the first two games of the series, Stowers is 5-for-8 with two homers, two doubles and five RBIs.

David Garcia then added another run in the sixth with an RBI single, plating Dustin Harris, to make it 3-0.

The eighth inning brought in two more tallies for the Riders without the aid of a hit as Sandro Fabian scored on a passed ball on the same play that allowed Miguel Aparicio to go first to third after stealing second. Aparicio then came in on a Stowers sacrifice fly to pad the Riders advantage at 5-0.

The Cardinals plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth on a Malcom Nunez solo homer and an RBI single from Justin Toerner, but the Riders were able to secure the 5-2 win.

On the mound, Seth Nordlin threw four shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out four in his start. James Jones (1-0) earned the win in his first action since 2019 in the Rangers system, striking out the side with one walk in his lone inning of work in the fifth.

Grant Anderson (1.1 innings) and Grant Wolfram (1.2) also threw scoreless baseball out of the Riders bullpen.
