
Travs Rally Late for Win in Tulsa

Tulsa, OK - Entering Wednesday night, the Arkansas Travelers had trailed 38 times when trailing after seven innings with no wins but that changed as they rallied to defeat the Tulsa Drillers, 6-2. The Travs scored twice in the eighth to tie it and then four times in the ninth to win it. Jack Larsen plated the go-ahead run on an infield single before three insurance runs scored with two out on a pair of bases loaded walks and a throwing error. Bryce Miller started for Arkansas in his Double-A debut and pitched five innings giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
Moments That Mattered
* Matt Scheffler tied the game with a two-run single in the eighth inning. He was the first batter to face reliever Gus Varland and worked to a full count before his clutch hit.
* Tulsa opened the bottom of the eighth with consecutive hits but both batters were thrown out trying to stretch their hits into doubles. Tanner Kirwer and Jack Larsen netted the outfield assists.
