Des Moines Buccaneers News Release
DES MOINES, IA - Forward Rylee St. Onge has announced his commitment to the University of Alaska Anchorage.
"I am proud to announce my commitment to play for the Seawolves," St. Onge said. "I'd like to thank my family, friends, teammates and coaches that helped me along the way!"
Last season, St. Onge led the NAHL's Corpus Christi Ice Rays in scoring with 48 points, including 20 goals. The Buccaneers selected Rylee in the 5th Round of the 2018 USHL Phase II Draft.
"It's great to see Rylee's perseverance paying off," GM Tom Mannino said. "After watching him compete and produce last year in the NAHL, he's made a successful transition into the USHL under Coach Reilly's guidance. We are confident this transition will lead to him to success at the collegiate level with Alaska Anchorage next season."
More recently, the winger from St. Catharines, ON has delivered six goals and eight points over his past ten games.
"Rylee has tremendous character and he has earned and deserves this opportunity," Head Coach Gene Reilly said. "We're very excited for him and the Seawolves are getting an excellent addition to their program."
Des Moines is at home this weekend again, both Friday and Saturday night.
Friday night the Bucs play Cedar Rapids for the first time this season and Saturday the Sioux Falls Stampede are in town.
Saturday is our annual "Ugly Sweater Jersey Game" featuring specialty holiday themed uniforms for auction after the game. It is also our annual Teddy Bear toss night. All promotions are courtesy of Broadlawns Medical Center.
