HARTFORD: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Chris Drury announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned forward Dawson Leedahl to the Wolf Pack from its ECHL affiliate, the Maine Mariners.
Leedahl, a second-year pro out of the Western Hockey League, has skated in 12 games with the Mariners this season, chipping in three goals and four assists for seven points, and serving 26 minutes in penalties. The 6-1, 197-pound Leedahl, a 22-year-old native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is tied for third on the Maine club in goals and ranks second in PIM.
Last season as a rookie, Leedahl logged 38 games with the Wolf Pack, producing two goals and six assists for eight points, and amassing 35 penalty minutes. In 24 games with Greenville of the ECHL, he had nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points, along with 22 PIM.
Leedahl signed as a free agent with the Rangers May 8, 2017, after a five-year career in the WHL with the Everett Silvertips and Regina Pats. In 297 career WHL contests, Leedahl's totals included 72 goals and 118 assists for 190 points, plus 367 PIM.
