Forward Alden Hirschfeld Returns from Providence

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Alden Hirschfeld has returned to the team from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Hirschfeld, 25, appeared in 35 games with the Bruins (AHL) scoring four goals and four assists for eight points. In 18 contests with the Stingrays, the Sylvania, Ohio, native registered eight points (four goals, four assists). Currently in his first professional season, Hirschfeld attended Miami University (Ohio) for four seasons, totaling 70 points (35 goals, 35 assists) in 134 games and helped the RedHawks capture a CCHA Championship in 2010-11.

The Stingrays kick off the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs with Game 1 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Friday, April 5 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.
