Reading's Gill Named Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Riley Gill of the Reading Royals is the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for March. It is the third time in Gill's career that he has won the monthly honor ( Oct. 2010 and Feb. 2012 ), tying him for the most Goaltender of the Month awards in ECHL history.

The 28-year-old went 9-2-1 with three shutouts, a 1.24 goals-against average and a save percentage of .953 in 12 apperances during the month.

Gill allowed two goals or less in each of his final 11 appearances in March, and made at least 26 saves seven times, and he was named Goaltender of the Week for the weeks ending March 17 and March 24. He stopped 26 shots in a 3-0 win against Orlando on March 8, made 34 saves in a 2-0 victory over Elmira on March 15 and had 30 saves in a 2-0 win at Toledo on March 24.

A native of Northfield, Minn., Gill joined the Royals on Feb. 27, and in 14 games with the club, posted an overall record of 10-3-1 with three shutouts, a 1.28 goals-against average and a save percentage of .952.

Gill has appeared in 85 career ECHL games with Kalamazoo, Victoria and Reading going 48-25-10 with eight shutouts, a 2.62 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914.

Runners Up: Louis Domingue, Gwinnett (7-1-0, 1.89 GAA, .932 save pct.), Jesse Deckert, Florida (9-1-0, 2.40 GAA, .916 save pct.) and Josh Robinson, Idaho (7-2-0, 2.22 GAA, .938 save pct.).
