
Roy & Trivino Receive ECHL Monthly Award Honors

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Wednesday that Mathieu Roy has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Player of the Month for March, while Corey Trivino has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month for March.
Roy earns Player of the Month honors for the second consecutive month after totaling 27 points (10g, 17a), and finishing with a +9 rating to help lead the Everblades to an 11-3-1 record in March. In addition, Roy registered at least one point in 14 of 15 games during March, which included a five-point game (2g, 3a) in an 8-3 win at Orlando on March 26. He also had two three-point games, and had five two-point games during the month.
The Amos Quebec, Native led the ECHL this season with 89 points and 38 goals, and last week, was named to the All-ECHL First Team. Roy was also named the ECHL Player of the Month for February.
Trivino registered 21 points (10g, 11a) and was a +9 during the month of March. Trivino posted a point in 12 or the 15 games played during the month which is highlighted by his first career hat-trick to cap off a four-point night at Orlando on March 26. In addition, Trivino totaled six multi-point games, and three points (1g, 2a) in a 6-3 victory at Fort Wayne on March 8.
The Toronto, Ontario native finished fifth among ECHL rookies with 51 points (18g, 33a) in 63 games this season. Trivino posted 73 points (31g, 42a) during his collegiate career at Boston University.
The announcement of today's awards comes just one day after Roy was named the ECHL Player of the Week, and Jesse Deckert named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week yesterday.
