FORT MYERS, FL - The Tortugas were held to just five hits in their 4-1 loss against the Fort Myers Miracle Monday night at Hammond Stadium.

The Tortugas lone run came in the seventh inning, when Shed Long and Nick Senzel issued back-to-back singles before a Gavin LaValley sacrifice fly to center. The fly out drove home LaValley's 20th run of the year, second most in the Florida State League.

Fort Myers started the scoring with a trio of runs in the fourth inning off RHP Jonathan Crawford. The Miracle sent eight men to the plate in the frame, scoring three runs on just two hits. Fort Myers was aided by two walks, a hit batter and an error. Max Murphy led off the frame with a triple to right field and scored on a Zander Weil ground out. Shane Kennedy later drilled his first home run of the year to left field to give the Miracle the 3-0 lead.

Fort Myers would add another run against RHP Austin Orewiler in the seventh inning with a two-out RBI single from Chris Paul to right field.

The Tortugas only had one official at-bat with a man in scoring position, getting a runner behind first base twice all game. Daytona went hitless over the final 11 batters of the game.

Crawford (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing three runs and five hits in five innings, while striking out four. RHP Dereck Rodriguez (1-2), son of Ivan, earned his first win. Rodriguez tossed seven innings of five hit ball, allowing just one run while striking out six, including the final two batters faced.

The series continues Tuesday in Fort Myers. RHP Jose Lopez (1-1, 2.05) gets the ball for Daytona against RHP Cody Stashak (0-3, 4.71). First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM with pregame coverage beginning at 6:15 PM on AM 1230 and AM 1490 WSBB.

Notes: Nick Senzel extended his hitting-streak to a season-best eight games, batting .367 during that stretch...Alfredo Rodriguez went 0-for-3 Monday and is now 2 for his last 31...Daniel Sweet was hit by a pitch for the league-leading eighth time...The Tortugas have scored one total run in their three losses against Fort Myers this year
