Oklahoma City Blazers News Release

Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League signed veteran forward Bryan Forslund, head coach Doug Sauter announced today.

Forslund, a 6-0, 190-pound native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, is entering his second season with the Blazers and ninth as a professional. With Oklahoma City last season, Forslund amassed 42 points (21-21-42) and served 111 penalty minutes in 62 games played. He was second on the team in shots on goal with 257 and tied for second with seven power-play goals. The nine-year pro has recorded 433 points (183-250-433) and served 865 penalty minutes in 597 games played.

"Bryan Forslund made a big impact with our hockey club last season," said Sauter. "He is determined to get the Blazers back into the playoffs this season. His hard work ethic, enthusiasm and readiness to play are factors that earned him a contract with the Blazers for the 04-05 campaign."

Forslund is the first veteran player signed by the Blazers this season. Each CHL team is permitted to have four players with 260-or-more games of professional experience under contract. The addition of Forslund brings the number of players signed by the Blazers for the 04-05 season to 12.

Oklahoma City opens the 2004-05 season at home against the Colorado Eagles on October 22 at 7:35 p.m.

NOTE: For the first time ever, the Blazers are offering a "Friday Night Special."
