
Former Wild Things Take Part in World Baseball Classic

WASHINGTON, PA - Two former Washington Wild Things players and one former coach are participating in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
The Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, are thrilled for Blake Ochoa (2011), Mitch Dening (2012), and Greg Jelks (2008), who are representing Spain, and Australia, respectively, this spring.
Ochoa, who was an All-Star for the Wild Things in 2011, boasted a .988 fielding percentage in 80 games. Dening played 15 games for the Wild Things in 2012 before heading to the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League, where he hit .347 in 42 games. Jelks spent one season as the Wild Things' Field Manager in 2008.
While Australia has been eliminated from the WBC, stay tuned as Spain begins their run for the title on Friday, March 8, 2013 versus Puerto Rico!
