San Diego Strike Force News Release

Former San Diego Strike Force offensive lineman Desmond Bland has signed with the New Orleans Saints.

Standing 6-foot-4, and weighing in at 300 pounds, Bland began his football career at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, earning himself a 3-star recruiting grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Bland received a scholarship from Arizona Western College, where he'd be voted a two-time NJCAA All-American. He'd finish his college career at the University of West Florida, leading him to the Indoor Football League as the next stop along his football journey.

Bland was the starting center for the Strike Force in 2023, protecting quarterback Nate Davis. He plays a physical brand of football, which eventually led to Desmond Bland receiving the call that he'd be heading to the Big Easy on a UDFA contract with the Saints.

For many in the IFL, reaching the NFL is a common goal. For Bland, that dream comes to fruition as he joins the New Orleans Saints this summer with a chance to make the 53-man roster for the 2024-25 season.
