
Former FC Dallas Girls Academy Player Diana Ordoñez Selected by North Carolina Courage

FRISCO, Texas - Former FC Dallas Girls Academy player and University of Virginia forward Diana Ordoñez was selected sixth overall by North Carolina Courage in the 2022 NWSL Draft presented by Ally.
Ordoñez, 20, spent three seasons at the University of Virginia, where she scored 45 goals in 62 appearances. Her 45 goals are tied with Caroline Miller (2009-2012) for third most all-time at Virginia. Her accomplishments also include 2021 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, three-time All-ACC selection (2021 - First Team; 2019, 2020 - Second Team), two-time All-Region First Team honor by United Soccer Coaches (2020, 2021), three-time ACC Championship All-Tournament Team selection (2019, 2020, 2021) and ACC leader in goals as a freshman (2019) and as a junior (2021).
A Prosper, Texas native, Ordoñez played for FC Dallas for nine years from 2010-2019 and became an ECNL National Champion. While with FC Dallas, she was also named Gatorade Player of the Year for 2016-2017 and the DA Player of the Year Central Conference 2018. She also became a U-17 Concacaf Champion in 2018. Ordoñez became the first former FC Dallas Girls Academy player to be named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann trophy.
