Former American Idol Contestant Marlea Stroman to Perform National Anthem at April 9 Crunch Game

Syracuse, NY (March 31, 2005) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that former American Idol contestant Marlea Stroman will be at the Saturday, April 9 game against Rochester to sing the National Anthem.

Stroman, 21, was a contestant on Fox's American Idol this season, where she sang ‘All At Once' from Bonnie Raitt's Luck of the Draw. Stroman advanced to the second round in Hollywood, when she decided to leave the show to return to Syracuse to attend to her son, becoming the first ever American Idol contestant to quit.

The Crunch hosts Manitoba on Friday, April 1 for Beach Night. The Island Band will be performing throughout the game and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a leis in celebration of Beach Night.
